How it works?

As your body ages and produces less estrogen, FSH levels increase as the hormone tries to stimulate the ovaries to produce a healthy egg.

SELF® tests measure your FSH level and can tell you whether your body is producing excess FSH as a result of low estrogen levels, signaling that your body is in the perimenopause stage.

The pituitary gland in the brain releases FSH and signals the follicles in the ovaries to mature and release an egg every month during the menstrual cycle. As follicles grow, they release estrogen and progesterone into the blood. As women approach menopause, fewer follicles are being made. Estrogen levels decrease, causing FSH levels to rise*

You need to do the 2 tests within a week to have a confirmation of your level of FSH.
